Ombra s.f. Zona di oscurità o di minore luminosità provocata da un corpo opaco che intercetta la luce. Spesso associata, nella concezione corrente, all’idea di frescura, di riparo dal calore del sole e della luce violenta./ In pittura o nel disegno, il tono scuro o il tratteggio che rappresenta le zone in ombra e che, in contrasto con le parti in luce, dà rilievo alle immagini./ La sagoma oscura proiettata da un corpo opaco colpito dalla luce, che riproduce, più o meno deformata, la figura del corpo stesso. In particolare , la figura del corpo umano: Scorsi la sua ombra dietro di me. / lat. Umbra (m): Ombra s.f.  1 oscurità, tenebre, offuscamento, (est) buio. CONTR. Luce, splendore; 2  luogo ombroso. I sentimenti dell’uomo in assenza di luce sono stati fonte di metafore nell’ambito della letteratura e di simbolismo nell’arte. In questo campo, con l’uso del chiaroscuro, l’oscurità enfatizza o contrasta la luce. Generalmente l’oscurità viene abbinata al male o al peccato. È possibile riscontrare il significato negativo dell’oscurità nella Divina Commedia di Dante: nei primi versi, infatti, il poeta toscano si ritrova in una selva oscura. Buio s.m. 1 oscurità, tenebra, caligine, ombra, opacità, offuscamento, foschia, notte, oscuramento. CONTR. Shadow (n.) – Area of obscurity or less brightness caused by an opaque body which intercepts the light. The feelings of a person in the dark have been a source for metaphors in literature and symbolism in art. In this field, with the use of light and shading, contrasts or emphasizes darkness. Generally, darkness is associated with evil or sin. It is possible to encounter the negative associations of darkness in Dante’s Divine Comedy: in the first verse, in fact, the Tuscan poet finds himself in a dark wood. Di cosa è ombra il buio? Di chi è ombra il buio? quale follia estrema può spingere qualcosa o qualcuno a esporsi, e accecarsi, a cosi tanta e insostenibile luce per lasciare oltre a se un’ombra cosi grande da diventare il buio? e se il buio fosse figlio delle nostre palpebre? se l’ombra fosse chiusa dentro a noi e bastasse chiudere gli occhi per liberarla e farla diventare buio!  |  What are dark shadows made of? Who owns dark shadows? What extreme folly could push something or someone to expose themselves, to blind themselves in so much unbearable light as to cast a shadow beyond themselves so large as to create darkness? And if the darkness was the child of our eyelids? And if darkness was locked inside us and it was enough to close our eyes to release it and create darkness!

Immaginiamo ma non sappiamo, cerchiamo di dare forma e nome a qualcuno a qualcosa che sconfina nell’ inconoscibile,  forse la fede qualunque essa sia, può dare una soluzione d’illusione,  ma  non una  soluzione in una risposta. Nell’ ombrabuio di cui ignoriamo il proprietario ci è concesso  guardare, ascoltare, cercare.  Residui, storie, azioni, brandelli di memoria, frammenti di gesti e parole, suoni e immagini antiche, sfocate simultaneamente sovrapposte  che condensate nell’ombra diventano indizi che ci illudono di poter rivelare il proprietario dell’ ombra buio.  Albumi evanescenti di un biancore di luce tecnologica ci permettono di indagare le ombre e i frammenti del buio. Quadrati opalescenti di nero esposti alla luce della tecnologia rivelano il loro interno di storie  |  We imagine but we don’t know, we try to give form and name to someone or something that borders into the unknown, perhaps faith, whatever it may be, can give an illusory solution, but not a solution in the form of an answer. In shadow-darkness of whom we do not know the owner, we are allowed to look, listen, and search. Remains, stories, activities, fragments of memory, parts of words and gestures, antique sounds and images, blurry and simultaneously overlapping shadows which condensed become clues that delude us into thinking we might reveal the owner of the dark-shadow. Egg whites which are effervescent of a stark technological light, allow us to investigate the shadows and fragments of darkness. Il corpo, come luogo del vivere domestico e sociale. Il vivere si scrive nel corpo, il tempo si scrive nel volto e nei gesti. Gesto al limite della danza, parlare ad ognuno, ascoltare ognuno. La verità tramite la performance, la scultura ambientata, la parola didascalica e narrata, lo spazio domestico dell’agire fanno divenire percettibile un’idea di “spiritualità’”. Questa verità è irripetibile, esaurendo nel momento la sua energia, rivivrà soltanto nella memoria del singolo, protagonista o spettatore. Siamo ora in un ambiente di comunicazione emotiva per ricostruire quel dialogo popolare che la linguistica del contemporaneo, molto spesso, nega. Il linguaggio dell’arte rimane per pochi e addetti ai lavori, l’emozionalità passa tutti i livelli. Non amo fare arte per gli addetti ai lavori  |  The body as a place of social and domestic existence. Life is written in the body, time is written in faces and gestures. Gesture which is almost dance, talks to everyone, listens to everyone. The truth, through performance, sculpture, the captioned and narrated word, the domestic space of action allows the idea of ‘spirituality’ to be perceived. This truth is unique, becoming exhausted when its energy, lives only in the memory of the individual protagonist or viewer. Now, we are in an environment of emotional communication in order to re-construct the simple dialogue that contemporary language very often denies. The language of the art remains for a few insiders and professionals yet its emotions pass all levels. I don’t like making art for professionals.
